About Us

On March 4, 1980 about 40 people met and incorporated Rio Vista Citizens for Seniors. On October 18, 1982 , the first senior center building was completed.

In the decades since then, the building has been renovated and remodeled several times, new activities have been introduced, and more and more seniors have come to benefit from the services offered here.

Today, the Rio Vista Senior Center has an outstanding reputation as one of the best in Solano County. Under the guidance of the Board of Directors, and with substantial support from the Rio Vista community, the Senior Center has provided many activities, programs, and fund-raising events.

The Senior Center is unique in that it is truly governed by the seniors it serves. Volunteers work hand-in-hand with the Board to develop, manage, and evaluate the Center’s offerings — and raise money to support its ongoing operation. The Center is also highly supported by the Rio Vista City Council and City staff.
